Oil Removal Methods For Range Hoods

Feb 03, 2026|

After using a range hood, the oil tray should be cleaned thoroughly. You can place a plastic bag (like the kind used for oranges) inside the oil tray, pressing it tightly against the sides. Once the tray is full, remove the bag and replace it with a new one. This solves the problem of unclean oil and utilizes waste plastic bags, saving time.

The waste oil in the range hood's oil tray can be reused. Many kitchens use range hoods, and their oil trays fill up with waste oil within a few days. It's an excellent "grease remover" for cleaning kitchen window frames, exhaust fans, and range hood stains. The method is simple: dip a rag or old towel in the waste oil and apply it to the greasy areas, then wipe the grease off with a cloth and polish with a clean cloth.

The oil in the range hood's oil tray can also be reused. Doors and windows are connected with metal hinges, which wear down quickly from frequent opening and closing. You can use a small wooden stick to apply waste oil to the hinge shafts, extending their lifespan and reducing noise.
