Precautions for using range hoods

Mar 04, 2026|

Range hoods are arguably one of the essential household appliances in modern kitchens. Their performance and ease of use significantly impact indoor air quality and the health of homeowners, making them crucial. Over time, range hoods accumulate grease on their surfaces and interiors, affecting their smoke extraction efficiency. Therefore, regular and proper cleaning is essential for their proper function.

1. First, disconnect the power to the range hood to ensure personal safety.

2. Wipe the outer casing and mesh cover of the range hood with a soft cloth dampened with a small amount of warm water containing neutral detergent. Then dry with a clean, soft cloth.

3. Disassembly and cleaning of the impeller and volute:

(1) Unscrew the screws on the mesh cover and remove the cover and mesh cover.

(2) Then unscrew the screws securing the impeller and remove it.

(3) Soak the removed parts in warm water with neutral detergent, wash with a soft cloth, and dry.

(4) Wipe the dirt inside the volute housing with a soft cloth dampened with a small amount of warm water containing neutral detergent. Wash and dry the inside of the cloth.

(5) Reassemble the components in the reverse order of disassembly.

(6) After assembly, check that the oil passages are clear and that the sealing ring on the volute housing is properly sealed.
