The Difference Between A Fresh Air Ventilation Fan And An Air Conditioner

Feb 14, 2026|

Air conditioning regulates indoor temperature and allows only a limited exchange of indoor and outdoor air, essentially operating as a closed-loop system. Therefore, it cannot meet the IAQ (Indoor Air Quality) requirements for fresh air volume.

The difference between a fresh air exchanger and an air purifier: An air purifier is a closed-loop device that can only reduce the concentration of certain harmful substances in indoor air. It cannot reduce carbon dioxide concentration, replenish oxygen, or meet the IAQ requirements for fresh air volume.

A fresh air exchanger is an open-loop system that can provide sufficient fresh air to the room, ensuring that people breathe fresh, clean air. At the same time, by replacing old air with new air, a fresh air exchanger also reduces the concentration of various harmful substances in indoor air, thus significantly purifying the air.
